The Challenge
Our client, one of the world’s top three power management equipment manufacturers, secured a contract to supply uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems to one of the world’s largest semiconductor foundries. The foundry’s facilities are being built at an exceptional pace, leaving virtually no margin for error on delivery. Any delay risks holding up an entire production line.
The project presented several demanding tests on the logistics side. The first was the sheer scale of the equipment: each UPS unit stands more than 200 centimeters tall and weighs approximately 1,000 kilograms. The second was time pressure. The foundry required delivery on call, making conventional ocean freight schedules of five to seven days entirely unworkable. Because construction progress at each site could be adjusted at any moment, the packaging and site-entry method for the equipment also had to remain flexible in order to comply with the foundry’s dust-control requirements.
Faced with this degree of uncertainty, the client needed more than a provider of warehouse space. They needed an integrated logistics partner able to respond to requirements in real time and to reallocate resources at short notice.

Morrison Express brought together resources from across the group to establish an end-to-end service covering overseas container loading, import customs clearance in Taiwan, and storage at our Taiwan warehouse, ensuring that every stage of the operation connects seamlessly.

Our warehouse team keeps value-added service capability on standby at all times, allowing arrangements to be adjusted immediately before dispatch in line with on-site foundry requirements, with no additional waiting time.
Precision Coordination and the Control Tower
The account manager acts as a control tower, orchestrating international transport, customs clearance, warehouse dispatch, and last-mile delivery, while maintaining close working relationships with our trucking partners. Even when the client’s shipping instruction came through in the afternoon, we ensured the units arrived at the project site on schedule by early the next morning.
Specialized Heavy-Load Transport
Air-ride trucks are used throughout to reduce the impact of vibration on precision equipment during transit, and vehicle types are adapted to site entry regulations in order to overcome the operational challenges of each facility.
